View Full Version : Doxycycline and tinnitus/hearing loss? HELP!

Hi all,

I've been taking doxycycline 200mg/day for 3 weeks now. I've had problems with ears ringing in the past due to problems with my jaw, so when the ringing started about a week ago I didn't think it was a big deal. However, it's been getting incredibly loud to the point where it's hard to tell the ringing from "real" high-pitched sounds and the hearing in my right ear seems a little off. I also hear clicking sounds every time I swallow that I would normally associate with my ears popping.

I've read conflicting information on the web regarding whether doxy can cause tinnitus/hearing loss -- in the mainstream it seems not, though there are a lot of acendotes out there. Does anyone know from personal experience or otherwise if the two are related?
