Lets start off with weight, I am not overweight but I do weight around 185-190 (5'10) I workout regularly. I am always hungry and thirsty. Especially during the past one week, I couldn't believe my eyes how much junk I have been eating (cookies, fastfood, fried food, carbs). I am always thirsty but only for water, my throat dries to a point that I start coughing if I dont drink water often. I urine quite often, sometimes upto 10-15 times a day. Infact, I have went to restroom 3 times in the past 1 hour but that could be water related. I have had on and off diarrahea (sp?) for past couple of weeks. My liver enzhymes were also out of range in recent blood test.
But on the other hand, I have not seen any drastic weight loss or anything. I am not fatigue or tired. I sleep well (although I do wake up occasionally to go to a washroom to urine)
This whole curiousity and the reason for me to join this board started with my liver enzymes being high. But when I came here, I did research and began to understand some other diseases and noticed that I have some of the symptoms. I am not too stressed but could this be a sign of diabetes? As I mentioned, I am only 21. No one in my family has diabetes with the exception of my grandfather who is in his early 80s. My dad is infact quite overweight (5'11, 230) yet he is healthy.

What did your doc say about the elevated enzymes? And why are they so elevated? Did you get a glucose test along with these other blood tests? If you are only 21, chances of it being Type 2 diabetes, which is usually hereditary, would be slim, especially with you being normal weight and it not running in your family. If it were diabetes it would most likely be Type 1 and you would most certainly be seeing more drastic symptoms I would imagine, but I'm not sure if it's only been going on a week. Find out if you had a glucose test with those other tests and that would tell you if it was diabetes related. Good luck!

The blood was taken for liver purposes only. I have to go see the for further checkups on that. To answer your other questions, I havent had a glucose test. The fact that I urinating quite often and drinking loads of water has been going on for a while now but lately I craving for fatty food a lot. In the recent time, maily during the past week or so I am eating a lot. Thank you for your help...

Hmmmm...I'm sorry I can't say. I can only suggest that you see a doctor for a simple blood test (a fasting glucose, or even a random should be ok). Are you eating a lot and losing weight? Or are you gaining? If you are eating more than you normally do, but losing weight or staying the same, that would be something to take into consideration too. Maybe someone else can jump in on here and help you more. Are you on any medications that would increase your thirst?
