So for about 2 weeks now I have been getting a lot of sinus drainage and it has been turning yellow. And yesterday my throat starting hurting I guess from spitting all of this crud out. I am taking Xyzal for allergies but it's not helping. I was paranoid and thought it was HIV, but they ran a CBC and said everything was completely normal, I had been taking things to boost my immune system though. My White blood count was like 5000 or something and he said it didn't look like a bad viral or bacterial infection.

Could this just be allergies or what?

It's sticky mucous at that and I am constantly having to clear my throat. Not many other people are having allergies though right now I wouldn't think. And I have tried claritin and everything and my perscription medicine.

Is this something more serious or just allergies? I made an appointment for the ENT so maybe that will tell something more. But this has just been making me paranoid that it's HIV.

I'm not sure why you're concerned about HIV, but there are about a dozen other things it could be (and I've never heard that the symptoms you describe have anything to do with HIV).

The three most likely causes are allergies (which it sounds like you're addressing), a sinus infection (but your doc may have ruled that out - if you get worse or start feeling sinus pressure of running a fever that's the likely cause), or acid reflux which commonly causes post nasal drip, sore throat and constant throat clearing.

If you have frequent heartburn you might try Prilosec OTC (which you can get without a prescription at any drug or grocery store) for 2 weeks. It's even possible to have reflux with no symptoms, but if that's the cause the Prilosec should make a difference within a couple of days. If it is reflux, the acid is probably irritating the lining of your esophagus and throat, and your body is producing extra mucus to try to respond to the irritation.
