View Full Version : Swelling/mass of tissue above my left testicle

Hey all,
So about 2 days ago, I realized that there is a sort of mass, or group, of vein like tissue right above my left testicle going up. It feels like a mass of stringy tubes. It is thick and certainly soft and squishy-like. However, I do not feel the same thing AT ALL above my right testicle. I feel stringy tissue, but it is MUCH narrower and smaller. It doesn't hurt or anything, and I haven't had any problems sexually (I am a mildly sexually active 15 year-old). I am almost positive it's not an STD, as my only girlfriend has never been with anyone else, and I'm sure of this. I'm slightly worried, althoguh there have been no other problems lately relating to it- just that I've noticed it. I thought i might as well ask around before consulting my doctor.

Help would be great. Thanks so much,
Dave

Dave,

I too have this problem. It's mostly on my right testicle. I went to my primary care doc and he sent me to a urologist.

The urologist took one look at it and said it was a varicocele. I found a good description of it here:
http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/sexual_health/guys/varicocele.html

He said that unless it was causing any pain just to monitor it (when you take a shower) and if it got worse to go back.

Hope this helps!
