Anyone ever have a bunionette, by the little toe removed and what procedure did your doctor use? How's your recovery? This is sometimes called a Tailor's bunionectomy.

wmkcolors 05-05-2008, 10:00 PM Anyone ever have a bunionette, by the little toe removed and what procedure did your doctor use? How's your recovery? This is sometimes called a Tailor's bunionectomy. skyhighifly 05-05-2008, 11:26 PM I am having my first foot done on June 9th. Been looking for someone who is in the same position as me. I got for H&P (Pre-op) on May 21st and will know more exactly how this will be done after that. I do know that I have "significant lateral bowing." Looks like close to a 45 degree bend on xray. The doc will be cutting and using "a screw or two" to hold everything in place and I will be non-weight bearing for 6 weeks in a boot. I was told I could do the second foot 8 weeks after the first, but due to work (teacher) I will do the second during track break right after Thanksgiving. When I know more I can post for you. Not easy finding good information on procedures for bunionettes. It all seems to focus on 1st metatarsal bunions. |
