I am been debating purchasing air purifiers for myself and my 4 year old. Both of us are suffering miserably with allergy season and for me, dust mites.
Is it worth it? Has anyone found them to be beneficial?
I was checking units out and it will run us about $600+ for 2 really good hepa units.
Appreciate any advice.
Thank you!

I love mine. I think it is a Breeze AT. I should take care of it better than i do. I did clean it really well and ran the "sanitize" more often when i was sick

They seem to help me quite a bit - I've got a $200 Honeywell HEPA air purifier in our bedroom and it's been great. If you're allergic to dust mites, be sure that your pillows and mattress are encased (probably worth it to buy new pillows).

I have 4 of the Honeywell HEPA air purifiers and they seem to work very well. I usually have lots of respiratory problems in the winter and spring. This year since getting the machines I have not had a problem. I assume the machines made the difference.
In 2007 I had pneumonia and whooping cough in April and penumonia again in September. This year I am doing great, no respiratory problems. I do have a little allergy problems, not much. Definitely an improvement. Seldom have to take an anahistamine.
Bought the purifiers at Home Depot for $150 each. I put them in the rooms where I spend most of my time.

Mine is a "Honeywell 18155 SilentComfort HEPA Air Purifier" - we've actually got two of them - one in our bedroom and one in the basement and they've been working away reliably for about 3 years.
