Is it true that running can make your face a little saggy in the jaw area with time? I see how that would make sense, but was hoping there was something I could do to prevent this. I used to be an elliptical person but switched to jogging on the treadmill and LOVE it. I've been getting way better results and my legs look awesome. I'd hate to give this up! Any tips to prevent this from happening? I see plenty of runners that look fine.

I can honestly say that I've never heard of this, I'll ask some folks that have been running far longer than I though and see what they have to say.

I know 70 year old men and women to run (and have been running most of their life) that look no saggier than their non-running counterparts. I have never heard such a thing before. :) Gravity alone takes its toll, but I really don't see how jogging furthers the problem.

Thank you for the replies! I didn't think so either but read about it in a book... but I see so many runners that look awesome! Maybe it's just some myth and somebody didn't know what they were talking about.

I've checked around with my group and we've determined that it's just something that people say as an excuse not to run :)
Weird what some people will come up with.

Glad to hear this! I mean I could see how your skin on your face kinda shakes a bit when you run, but at the same time, I think the facial muscles tighen with exercise, or at least it seems that way with me!
