Hello
I was told I was bipolar about 10 years ago. I have been on paxil.effexor,depakote (tegratol) SP. zoloft xanax wellbutrin. and I few others. None worked to well for me. Most of the time I would just stop taking them cause I would feel like I was better and didnt need tham anymore. I now know that I cant do that anymore. I have found a new Dr and she has put me on. Lamictal and Zyprexa. Have or are anyone here on the same thing? If so how did it work for you.

I take Zyprexa for Bipolar 1.. I love this drug as it puts me to sleep everynight, I have no sleepness nights.........

Hello and welcome. I was diagnosed BPII for 17 yrs. I currently take Lamictal 50mg, Seroquel 450mg, Topomax 100mg, and Zoloft 50mg. I just started the Lamictal 4 weeks ago and am having some activation reactions, meaning mania and aggrivation, but am willing to ride these out as the Lamictal is supposed to be really good for Depression.

Lamictal hwas worked wonders for me. I do have considerable agitation from it, but will use Xanax to bring myself down when I really need to. I never took Zyprexa.
Give it some time, too. For me, the positive effects of the Lamictal far outweight the agitation, though at times I do wish I could sit still.

i am on lamictal and it has done wonders with making me a very functional person. i used to be on depakote and it made me feel like i wasn't all there.

I too am on lamictal and have been for over a year now. It is a good med.
I have only taken the disolving zyprexa when I was in the psych ER one time. It did seem to work nice and helped me sleep!

Thanks for your replys.
I have also been really easy to get mad or angry for the past 3 or 4 days now. Trying to handle it but it is pretty hard at times not to yell and blow up.
I know when I get like this I need to walk away and go to my safe place, thats my bedroom. Hope things get better now that I am back on meds.
