Has anyone gotten brain zaps when they've gone to a higher dose? I did 5mg Lexapro for 3 weeks, then 10 days at 10mg, 4 days at 15mg and today I went to 20mg of Lexapro, per doctors instructions. When I started and at the other dose changes I just had headaches and felt dizzy till I adjusted. I have, on occasion, had brain zaps. But today it's been going on all day.

Just wondering.

Yes, I know what you are talking about.
I have been on Zoloft for years and the only time I have really felt them is when I feel the dose is too high.
When I am going through a particularly rough time with my ex or my family, and I start the crying spells, my Dr will increase my dose.
As soon as I feel the zaps, I know to go back to the previous dose. I always tell him when I do so. It is not the only symptom I feel, I will also get shaky hands and feel like my body is trembling inside. Hope this helps!

when i used to be on lexapro about a year ago i never had that happen. however when i got off the medicine during the entire weening off process i felt brain zaps and dizziness and all that. it wasnt fun. its pretty normal though so just stick through it and you will be fine.
