Hello!

Just wondering if it's normal for sinus infection to cause insane exhaustion. I find it very hard to do my daily tasks--it's like I'm 9 months pregnant and attempting to climb Mt. Everest when I do something simple like laundry or an errand. Has anyone had this experience? I'm on day 6 of antibiotics and no relief yet.

It's very common - the fatigue is a byproduct of your immune system trying to fight off the infection, once the antibiotics start to work the fatigue should diminish.

Thank you, GC Smith! It's been almost a week now and I still feel pretty much the same, but I read on this board about another person with a dental sinus infection and it took six weeks of antibiotics to kick it. I'm hoping the med is doing something, or else it's a huge waste of antibiotics! I wonder if docs sometimes test you to see what bacteria is involved? Is that hard b/c we have lots of bacteria in our systems?

Well, it's good to know that this fatigue is here for a reason. Thank you so much for getting back to me.
