I posted some time ago about ear/jaw and face pain. I had my appointment with the ENT. It took about 10 minutes, and I'm actually hoping he was wrong. He said it's Trigeminal Neuralgia. Nerve pain. I looked it up when I got home and I'm not feeling too great about the idea of living with this, and I'm overwhelmed with the thoughts that this could actually get worse. After 6 + months of dealing with this, all I had to do was describe my pain to him and he seemed certain immediately as to what it was.
The ENT said I'd need to go to a neurologist and get an MRI, but my family doctor is holding off on those appointments. That makes me a little uncomfortable because I read that they have to rule out other causes (MS, tumor, aneurysm).
He also said that all my other symtoms (fatigue, dizziness, earfullness, muscle and joint pain) could be due to the stress I was under while the pain was active. I guess it makes sense, it was awful. I was getting 2-3 hours sleep a night, and waking up with my jaw clenched so tightly together it was like it was held together with elastics or magnets. Which, he thinks, strained my jaw muscles and are causing the sensation of fullness in my ears.
Just thought I'd share, incase anyone else shares this diagnosis or any of the symptoms.
