Hey NP--
It's Doug--aka the hittman--coming back to annoy you--
Actually just checking in to say Hi, and see how you are doing-- Any further surgery in your future ?--last I remember you managing pain with heating pads---is that still working ?? Warmer weather must help--I don't know where you live, but it's May--it's got to be kind of warm.... I finally got to the bottom of all my symptoms....LYME ! C-spine issues are common in lyme patients--I have stenosis, herniated disc, bulging disc, OPLL, osteophytes...I also have Hashimotos thyroiditis, and bursitis--all of which are commonly seen in Lyme--I got the blood tests back about a month ago, and have been on ABX'S since then.---No real progress yet, but I've learned that this is a long road---I'll have to be patient. I've been on the Lyme boards for a while now---remember "MONAROG" ?--she has Lyme as well, and is starting to see minor improvement---It's just nice to have a DX, and moving in the right direction..........I wanted to thank you for all of your help, and friendship---it was nice getting to know you. I wish you nothing but the best---you deserve that at least..
Take Care NP ! FEEL BETTER....

You'll always be the hittman to me. I was just thinking about you the other day and how I hadn't seen any posts lately. How wonderful to get some answers. I keep hoping and praying that some of my board friends get solutions to their problems. Is LYME something that you would have had a long time? I bet your wife was happy to see you get some word. Is your son having fun this spring?
Funny, I too have hashis (dx'd 10 yrs)
April was a very tough month for me, lots of pain and symptoms - I think I hardly was on the computer. I feel bad because I have seen posts where I could have helped support people but I am barely holding it together. I started back on neurontin and am up to 1800mg a day so far, along with trying to stay on hydrocodones and not move up, I am at the limit on daily doses of the 10mgs so if I keep escalating I don't really want to move to stronger. I am using lidoderm patches as well, they give a little help. With the warm weather the heating pad is getting hot, so I have started trying more cold therapy but it doesn't do it. I go for new neck and thoracic MRI tomorrow, I had been waiting for my NS appointment which was last week and now we need to wait on the tests. I am not looking for any surgery, I just want answers. I am really tired and scared, because of the pain level is at 9s without the meds and I am becoming angry and sad all over again. I just pray it isn't something worse than my spine DDD. This is year 4 for me and I just can't get out of these cylces. Back to not doing much, staying home more and just frustrated!!! My poor hubby. Hard for an active and positive person such as myself.
Sorry to dump - its the first time I have let myself pitty party and I just can't wait to hear what's going on.
I appreciate the shout out, and as soon as I have news I will post.

Hey NP--
I was so sorry to read of your issues----I hope your Dr appt went well--any answers ?? You know, I have DDD also.....I was thinking.....with your Hashi's and c-SPINE issues...those are 2 things associated with Lyme--have you ever been checked ?? There are only like 3 labs in the country that get accurate results..IgeneX being the best...what about seeing a Lyme Dr. and get a blood test with IgeneX ? You have so many unresolved issues.....You have nothing to lose NP, and everything to gain...I told you about Monarog---she had so many things going on, and no answers--2 spine surgeries---she finally got tested, and was positive for lyme--even though she is in Wash. state, where its rare.....you can read the lyme boards, and see if it seems logical....If you do, read posts by TICKER--she posts all the symptoms, and has lots of info...Most people (70%) never remember a tick bite, or see a rash.....You might find some answers.....
Thanks for asking about my son---I have 2, but I assume you mean the 8 yr old, with 2 heart surgeries---he's doing fantastic--no effects at all from the surgery, and enjoying the hell out of spring and baseball....both my boys are really thriving---they are my reason for never giving up, and finding joy in each day---them and my wife--theres not enough hours in the day for me to tell you about her--she's been AMAZING....I know you've mentioned your husband a few times, so I'm sure you understand....
I really hope you get some relief---you've helped so many people--you deserve some yourself...
Sending good thoughts and prayers your way---
Talk to you soon NP
Doug
PS--are you now going to the LYME board ??? GOOD--I knew you'd listen to reason! :)

Hi Guys,
I chat with Doug (aka: Hittman/Braveheart) now over on the Lyme board. I just want to echo his suggestion...if you're having lots of unresolved issues, no diagnosis etc...please jump over to the Lyme board and look under the symptom list. You really need a knowledgeable doctor who can get the right testing done at the right lab, even then the testing is not great; it's really a clinical diagnosis. But, Doug and I both, had/have c-spine issues with a bunch of other crazy symptoms and we both tested + for Lyme among other co-infections associated with tick-borne illnesses - and I live in an area where "nobody gets Lyme." Spent 3+ years in complete misery, ACDF surgery with no improvement of symptoms etc. No, I don't remember a tick bite, no rash, this is not atypical.
Please give this a serious consideration. Wishing you guys wellness and answers, sorry to hear of your struggles.
And Doug...we chat Lyme so much, glad to hear your boys are doing so well. I have three and they keep me hoppin' and give me every reason to try to get well. I too, don't know what I'd do without my spouse, he too has been so awesome. So, we have TONS to be thankful for, huh? OK...but we can curse this crappy disease when we want to also. :)
Take care everybody. Mona
