What could this be? I haven't had a period in a year. I am 49 and was on the pill and went off the pill in Feburary.
Here is my problem and I don't know if this could be related to Menopause. I have joint aches and pains all the time. I do not have hot flashes, I have no symptoms at all that I would be going though the change. I am not moody or anxious. I just ache all the time. I feel like I am falling apart.

Hi anitak1982,
Sorry to say but aches and pains are on the list for menopause symptoms. Be thankful you aren't have the hot flashes and night sweats or even the moodiness but the aches are sure hard to get past day in and day out. Take care,
Julie:)

If you were on the pill for a while, your body is still readjusting, hormonally speaking. It may take up to six months for your hormone levels to even out.(That is, as even as they get with meno) Sometimes an ibuprofen or two, before you go to bed, will help with the joint pain.

Ibuprofen is a great answer but guess what? I am allergic to it.
I have been taking aleve though. This stinks.
Thanks so much.

My arms and legs and hips have been aching too, in the last year. I thought it was our new bed, but i cannot get comfy in bed and im constantly wriggling to find that lovely comfy position , but it never happens anymore. When i turn over during the night its a struggle, oh dear old age creeping on , im 46 !!

I just logged in and was going to ask that exact same question you did!
To me, it feels like every muscle hurts and that I'm not put together right all of a sudden. Does that make sense? Everything just feels 'off' and everything hurts.
Did someone say this could last for 6 months? Auuuugh!
Also, I have been having some sporadic hot flashes -- relatively mild ones I think.
Geeze -- nobody ever told me about this! If I had known before hand I wouldn't have signed on! ;)
Thanks,
~Heather
P.S. Any tips on dealing with this would be most appreciated! Thanks!

Gee I feel so lucky as I have aches and sweats. Then again I had back surgery two months ago, so I am going to ache anyway. I do put the soap bar in the bed to help with the constant desire to move around and get comfy. It works. The only symptom I don't have is the mood changes. I asked my husband if I was moody or grumpy and he said no. He would certainly tell me.

There is a prescription strength version of Naprocyn, that is prescribed for everything from cramps to arthritis. It is supposed to be much better than the over the counter Aleve. Maybe this would work better for you. And I know the last thing any of us needs is more heat, but have you ever tried the ThermaCare heat wraps and patches? It might be too much heat to wear to bed, but maybe for the hours leading up to bed time? Just a thought.....
