Hello
Can anyone recommend the use of the Mirena IUD to help reduce heavy
periods??? Are there any bad side effects??? I would be grateful of any
advice here.

Jenni.

I was wondering if there is a perimenopause message board because
this isn't the right board for my question re an iud.

Both perimenopause and menopause issues are discussed on this Board. You might try posting on the Women's Health Board for other viewpoints.

Hi Kat....Thankyou for your kind reply....I feel lost at present and still battling with thyroid issues. I haven't had an ultra sound as yet. I put my period problems down to hormone changes of my age group lol...I am 46. I take iron when I remember, mostly everyday. I am not really keen on the IUD idea at all....I get side effects from everything, I am so sensitive.
Thankyou again for your kind support

Hi again Kat....yes its me from the thyroid message board with all my sensitivities lol. I take Tranexamic acid tablets for my periods and it is helpful in reducing the flow, just on the heavy days. As far as I know I have not got fibroids. I am Australian. Do you still get the anxiety problems....I do and it's a pain lol. Nevermind. Please keep in touch.
