Hello everyone. I am 30 years old and just recently underwent a LAVH (Lapriscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy) on May 3rd. My doctor took my cervix, uterus, right ovary and tube. She told me it would be best to leave the other ovary for hormone balance.

For the first couple weeks everything seemed to be okay. However, in the last three weeks or so I have been so depressed, tired, and extremely irritable. The irratibility and fatigue is manageable but the depression is terrible. I find myself having terrible thoughts. All of this is occuring for no apparent reason. I can be happy one moment, and in tears the next. I don't want to get out of bed in the mornings and have no energy for anything. (also gaining weight, having night sweats, and unexplainable hair growth)

Can anyone give me any advice? I feel like I am losing my mind. I go back to my doctor this Thursday for my final post-op checkup but I seriously think I need help before then.

It may be that your other ovary is not working properly as you are having symptoms of menopause. That is what you are feeling.

Get to your doctor and have him run LH/FSH, testosterone, DHEA sulfate, estrodiol, CA-125, ...

I had endometriosis and could not take replacements for six months and man, I had a lot of that too... it was not fun. A little boost of estrogen and you should feel fine.
