I recently had unprotected sex and almost exaclt 24 hours later my penis was starting to itch. Now it is slightly red at the tip with some small red dots near the redness. It is now 6 days later and it is still there. It is not painful just itchy. My foreskin was slightly inflamed but now that has subsided. The small red dots I wouldn't call spots, hard to tell even if they are raised of not. It may be me beign paranoid but I feel I am urinating more as well. What might it be? Thanks

I think you should get in to see a doc ASAP to get it looked at and tested. Do it tomorrow (Monday) because if it is herpes, the longer you wait the greater the chance for a false negative result (meaning the test would come back negative but you could still have it).

Ideally you should be tested within 24-48 hours of when symptoms appear. If you test negative (which is likely at this point, even if it is herpes) and the symptoms come up again, and you haven't had a definite diagnosis of something else, get in to get tested within 24-48 hours.

We're not medical professionals here so we can't give you a diagnosis. I will say that herpes typically takes at least 2 days to show symptoms, but I'm getting info from the internet (albeit from hopefully reliable sources). It might also be a yeast infection, which you could have got from this person, as well as a hundred other things I don't know about because I never went to medical school. Definitely see a doctor. Obviously it's *something* and chances are it's curable.

Good luck, and let us know how you make out.

Thanks for that. Will get to a doc tomorrow. Also it seems to be very smelly, might this mean it may be a yeast infection.

Thanks

Dunno. I'm only familiar with it from a female anatomy point of view. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif
