Hey, I supposedly have HSV-1... When I had went to the doc they just checked me out and said "yup it looks like herpes" I was 16 at the time so of course I believed them and everything. They didn't do a culture or anything.. So a few months ago, I went to a differant doc and I had a sore and she said it looked like folliculitis, which was a good possibility cuz I do shave down there. Well I bought some of that bikini zone to use when I shave and it's been working pretty well... There's only been lil bitty bumps every once in a while. Ok, to make a long story short, since I hadn't had many OB's since they told me I had herpes I'm still not to familiar with them. Well, last nite I had shaved the whole are and used the bikini zone and everything was fine and I ended up sleeping with a really good friend of mine *protected of course* and this morning I woke up with bigger bumps around there. They're not the usually whitehead-ish type ingrown hair bumps either. They look like zits. But from what I read on herpes sites and stuff and from what my last doc told me, herpes sores are always fluid filled and normally blister over. What I'm trying to ask is could this be an OB caused by the friction of the sex last nite and could an OB appear like that in a matter of hours. And if it is an OB, would I have been shedding before they appared, like when we were having sex. I would just feel awful if I passed this on to him because he's a really good friend of mine http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif ****, I don't even know if it's herpes, but it very well could be. I'm going to try and get to see a doc tomorrow but I kidna wanna try and get some peace of mind tonite, this is driving me insane.... Thanks and sorry so long

Herpes isn't always fluid filled blisters. Herpes could be small bumps, just redness, just itching/tingling, or now symptoms at all. What you describe COULD be herpes, but it could be something else. You should DEFINITELY get to a doc ASAP and have them swab test it to confirm.
From what I understand, people typically shed the virus before an outbreak.. I've heard as much as week before symptoms appear, but I'm not sure. You could have passed it on to him, but since you used a condom, that does help a little.
But what you need to do first is make sure that what you have is herpes!
