Hey confuzzled,

Sorry to hear you're going through... As a thought, this might not be herpes.. but infact a yeast infection.

I know this might sounds like a strange question, but have you noticed a smell downstairs?

How long have you had these white bumps for? Have you had any other symptoms apart from them? Pain while you pee? Burning, tingling or general pain downstairs?

First, RELAX. You wouldn't get genital HSV from your mom, or anyone else, kissing you on the mouth/face.

Second, it could be absolutely nothing. It could be a minor skin irritation from say too much bleach on your underwear, new soap, tight pants.... whatever.

It could be the HPV virus. (see the other recent post about that, too.) HPV is the human pappiloma virus (spelling?) and it is a VERY common STD -- I know over 5 women who have it -- no symptoms other than an occasional abnormal PAP smear during the annual dr. checkup -- the bad thing is, though, in women, it has been shown to cause abnormal cell/tissue growth on/around the cervix which has been directly linked to cervical cancer. Very important for women who have been dx to go for ANNUAL checkups - no exceptions. I know one girl who has it and has only had sex ONCE, with one person!! Go figure. And I thought I had bad luck. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Anyway, in males, HPV is usually symptomless, which is why it is spread so easily -- just like with HSV, no symptoms means most have no knowledge of even having the disease.

OTOH, again, it could be nothing.

I have to assume that you're sexually active? Call a doctor, make an appointment. That's the only way you'll know for sure.

Let us know what you find out.

Hey, you didn't mention how long you've had them. Or, if they change location or have always been in the same spot. Maybe its just part of your skin. Not all penises are created equal, you know http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hi Confuzzled,

I really think you should get checked out by your doctor. It doesn't seem likely that it's herpes but you obviously have *something* and should get it treated. It could be anything from a yeast infection to an allergic reaction to who-knows-what. It's probably nothing serious, but I'm not a health professional and can't give you a diagnosis.

Please see your doc and let us know what s/he says. In the unlikely event that it does turn out to be herpes, then we can talk about how you might have got it there, but to speculate in the meantime before you even know what it is, isn't going to be very helpful. Keep us posted! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Any chance that it might be irritated hair follicles? Like I said, penises come in all shapes, sizes and yes, hairiness, even on the shaft itself - though not very common, is not all that unusual either.

Maybe it's some time of pimple-like thing. All skin has pores after all. What you're describing sounds like the little white bumps that newborn babies get on their face - harmless little things that look kinda like mini-whiteheads, but more like dots.

Have you noticed that it gets worse with any particular activity -- sports-related chafing, sweating in hot weather, that kind of thing?? Have you tried anything to treat them? Like jock-itch powder or creams?

GO SEE A DOCTOR! Why worry about it. Just go find out.
