I have tintinus, which I'm living with as it's not so bad. However, last night I was awoken by this weird bubbling noise in my ear, like the sound draino makes, or alka seltzer. It lasted a few seconds and then happened again a couple more times. Freaked me the heck out. I slept the rest of the night with my head elevated, I don't know why but felt that might help.
Today it's not really happening, although I do have a strange feeling in that ear, not really pain, just odd.
I've tried looking for similar symptoms on google, but I just find ear infection stuff or water in the ear, neither of which applies.
Any thoughts?

I have been dealing with some problems with my balance and ears. I have seen where people will often hear a roaring sensation. Maybe thats what you're hearing?

Nah, it's not roaring. It's gurgling. Seriously, it sounds like a combination of fluttering and effervescence, or a popping sound but not really. :confused: It's hard to describe, obviously. LOL
I made an appt with my ENT for Monday as it has me concerned. I'm dealing with the crickets (my tintinus) but that never woke me up like this did.
