View Full Version : these headaches that I've had for years are driving me crazy

Hi-today I'm headache-free so can realize what an impact they have on our lives. If only I could live and think like I can today I'd achieve so much! I'd be so grateful for advice-I'm considering acupuncture or botox but we don't have much money. Apart from my sinus-type headaches I have migraine and often one runs into the other and by then meds don't work. The head pain which is most frequent often starts with temperature and atmosphere changes such as heat, sun, stuffy rooms, also air fresheners and perfume. Sometimes sitting at an awkward angle. Often before my sinuses start I'll get a dry, prickly feeling in my eye a couple of days before. Then pain above and in the corner of my right eye, down my cheek, into my jaw and across the back of my neck where I also get my migraines. Often they spread to my temple and it feels like my head is hot. My nose then feels totally blocked and like someone is pushing a metal bar up and down inside if that makes sense! I feel sick and have a catarrh-y smell and sensation. Over the years I've tried salt water inhalation-I still do this-anti-histamines,sprays,medication but I have a sensitive stomach, cutting out dairy and wheat and recently an x-ray of my sinuses and allergy test which came back clear except for a slight allergy to grass and dust. these head pains last for four or five days on the trot with no break-can't sit still or lay down for them. Everything in my life gets abandoned when I have them as I can't think. Is there anything people can recommend please?I've noticed sprays and nasal sticks make the pain much worse. Pleas ehelp me if you can-gps don't seem able to.

Try getting some peppermint essential oil and inhale the strong scent deeply when you have a headache, it is a possible natural cure and it works for me instantaneously.

When you get a realy bad ehadache, often all you can do is sleep it off.... take 2 Advil and 2 Tylennol PM (or the drugstore brand generics), rub soem tiger balm into your neck and temples, and lay down in bed with the curtains closed, and let your slef drift off to sleep.
