so i had my tonsils and adenoids removed 8 days ago (may 7). appearently they were abnormally big. but it wasn't too bad. we got to the hospital @ about 6 am then they got me into the room @ about 6:30 and i waited for about 2 hours. the surgery only took like an hour or less. i was in barely any pain the first day but i was on all kinds of meds. they gave me liquid roxicet (oxycodone) idk but i slept all day. the next couple of days weren't too bad but i couldn't eat anything at all. then i started getting really bad breath and still have it. my tongue is like covered in a layer of nasty stuff and today i started throwing up but b/c i haven't eaten anything it was all my powerade. now my throat is really dry and itcy and i keep coughing up thick chunks of stuff. is that normal?

I would definitely go to the doctor. You may have thrush, which would not be uncommon. Basically when you get put on antibiotics it kills all the good bacteria along with the bad, creating an imbalance in which yeast which is naturally controlled by the good bacteria starts to get out of control. The fact that you had surgery in your mouth makes it more vulnerable to this kind of infection.
If you have thrush the doctor will probably put you on nystatin, an oral anti-fungal. Personally I would be taking a good probiotic like Primal Defense to repopulate your good bacteria, I always do when going on an antibiotic. Plus, when I get thrush it knocks it down quicker than the nystatin. ;) If the doctor says you have thrush or other infection I would especially recommend you get on a good probiotic, it will speed up the healing process, help re-establish your immune system and get things back in balance.
