Ok so I have had these headaches since I been about 7 and now that im 27 years old that makes it 20 years of frustration. About every 3 months it seems I have one if not sooner. It starts out with a visual disturbance then moves to a head ache followed by numbness of hands and mouth. I also usually get confused, sensitivity to sound, and diarrhea. My doctor put me on imitrex 100mg it some what works but not as good as I hoped. What are some things to do to kick these headaches to the curve? What are some tricks to deal with the anxiety of this? Any and all advice is well appreciated...

Hi John,

I am far from and expert, but I do struggle with Migraine Syndrome....woozieness, nausea, mild headaches etc....I am wondering if you can find what your triggers are. Are they foods? I have a friend that used to get the occasional major headache and would take Maltex? and he considered this a wonder drug. Then he began to get his headaches more frequently....discovered he was nibbling on nuts and this was a trigger for him.
Anyway, I understand there are several abortive meds, so maybe if one doesen't work you could ask your doc for another one.
