Does anyone know if I am having a bad breakout and am taking valtrex 500mg how many pills I can take a day. I took two today, btu was wondering if it is safe to take two more later on today ?

I am also on 500mg/day and was told that I could increase to 500mg 2X's/day for 3 days during an outbreak or if I feel one coming on. It would be worth a quick call to your MD just to be sure as I am not sure about dosages higher than that.

Thanks for your reply. i talked to a pharmist and she suggests no more than to piills cause it could just make the breakotu worse.

I just started on 500mg dosages daily. My doctor didn't tell me exactly how it to take them with an OB. When I started the pills, I was on an OB. Should I take 2 a day for 3 days or what?? I really don't know what to do. I just know I have daily 500mg. Can someone help??
