Hi Everyone,
I will try to make this short. My daughter has been sick for about a week. Started out with a fever nasal conjestion, couphing, red eyes. Her fever has gone away but she still has all of the yucky allergy symptoms. My dr. seems to think it is our dog. Becuase she feal better when she leaves the house...still sniffling just not as bad. We have had this puppy for about 5-6 monthes now. Is it possible for her to just now start showing signs of being allergic to the dog? Should i have her tested for allergys to dog dander? Of course i will do whats best for my child...but i just cant imagine having to give my dog away...we all love her so much! Do you think an air purifier would make a diffrence? Sorry for all of the questions! :)

If it's only been a week that your daughter's been sick, I, personally, would wait another week or two and see if her lingering symptoms clear before consulting an allergist and going through testing. Sometimes mild cold symptoms can drag on for awhile.

Hopefully, she'll soon be feeling better and your puppy can remain with you.

Good luck.

I would wait a little longer before finding a new home for the dog. I have a air purifier and do think it helps. If you haven't already, do a major house cleaning, bedding, vacuum the furniture etc. Bathe the dog regularly but not too often. Call the vet's office

She could be developing an allergy to something or just have a mild cold. When she is out of the house she is usually up and moving right? at home more relaxed? My congestion always gets better when i'm walking around.
