I’ve read that those that have klinefelter have small testes and penis. How small is “small”?

Are there any symptons of Kl… that are always there, or always not there that you can use to identify if you have Kl…? For example, can you say if you have a strong sex drive than it’s impossible that you have Kl…, or if your hips are wider than your shoulders than you for sure have Kl…?

Have you ever heard of someone that was dropped by their insurance carrier, or not been able to get insurance because they had Klinefelter?

Are there any definite ways to tell if you have Klinefelter?

Sorry no one has responded. JinL is the best one to respond because he also has this. I am not expert enough on this condition to answer. I would not be surprised if people were refused insurance based on this though. I have heard they even refuse for sinusitis now. While I am not in favor of nationalized healthcare and don't want to start or participate in that debate, I wish we did have some way for people to be guaranteed coverage if they are willing to pay a reasonable fee. The whole purpose of insurance as I see it is to spread risk over many people.....not to simply insure people who are not likely to have claims.

hmm.. from what I've read, take that with a grain of salt, this doesn't effect penis size but it does make the testicles small just like any other form of hypogonadism. now saying that, with the lack of T during puberty it may mean sufferes would not reach the size they could have reached with the correct levels of T. (something like 90% of the male population falls in the 4 to 7 inch range so if your under 4 you are small)

JinL posts to this board sometimes but there is no way to know when he will again. By my response it will bump you to the top of the list again. Maybe he will check in. You might also want to search the forum for his other posts since he does have this. You might find something useful.

Sorry, been out of town on a contract.

Full Klinefelters is usually over 6' tall. Arm span longer that height. Small testicles, less than 1 inch usually. No active sperm. Low testosterone.

Blood tests & saliva test can determine full Klinefelters. They can be very expensive. If it is Klinefelter Mosaic then the usual tests might miss it.

There is no "cure", so the full battery of tests may not be worth it.

K Mosaic 47xxy/xy usually overweight as adult. Boob growth started in puberty. Low muscle mass. Small testicles, less than 1-1/4 inch. Very little or fine upper body & facial hair. Few active sperm, but enough. Not social. Trouble with written & spoke language. Many are in loner jobs like computer programmers, computer languages are no problem.

Low testosterone & high estradiol is normal. I have to take100mg T injections weekly to get the T up in the upper 1/2 of "Normal" range & 1-1/2 Arimidex tablet each week to stop the T conversion to estradiol, DIM/zinc daily to reduce the estradiol produced by my body. HCG injections 2 or 3 times a week to prevent the testicle from shrinking to prune size.

I am married with children.

The same ratio of homosexual to straight as in the general population.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply JinL.

I have lots of question, hope you can answer some.

You write: “Small testicles, less than 1 inch usually”. Does that mean length?

How did you get kids?

Do you have any posts I could read where you describe how you figures out you had Klin.? Did you know from when you were very young? Did you figure out later on?

Do you have any problems with your insurance because you have klin.?

How do I find out my sperm count?

If you don't want to go thru a doctor, I hear there is an over the counter test you can buy for sperm count. But it does cost on the order fo $100 I hear. Sorry but I can't remember the name. You could call a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist.

Do you have any problems with your insurance because you have klin.?

Never told them

Was that a conscious decision you made, to not let the insurance company know about your condition? The tests and treatment, you’re paying your self?

Who made the diagnosis? Did you ever consult with a doctor regarding your issues? They didn’t put that info into your medical records?

The doctor said it was not covered by insurance since it was not a disease or health problem.

It may be covered while in puberty.

He treats me for hypo-gonadism & that is covered.

No, not always overweight. Many full Klinefelters a underweight & are always sterile.

Many Klinefelters Mosaic seem to be from slightly overweight to fat, & have boobs, but have some active sperm.
