My sister's husband's cousin just turned 42 and did IVF. She did it b/c she's not married and wanted children so she used donor sperm. She is now pregnant with twins. Good luck!

Whew, did things go fast today, my head is still spinning, we decided to go w/ ivf, and since i was on 3rd day of cycle my RE was ready to get things moving (im not getting any younger right). I take BCP until 29May, i have Trail transfer, ivf consult, and injection teaching on 28May. Put order in for drugs today because of my age she is going to max it out. Base line on 2Jun and slew of appts and injections after that, if my eggs are cooking good we do ER on 13Jun and put them back in 16Jun, if the egg numbers are not good then we will proceed w/ iui. My company has a big conference going on right during middle of two week wait so I am hoping i will be too busy to obsess about everything. We also talked about donor eggs if this round doesnt work. I was worried there would not be many african american women donors but we live in a college town so she said there are plenty.
Wish me luck guy, i will keep you updated.

Estella, it does sound like things are moving fast!! That's great though that you will be in the 2ww during the conference - like you said, it will be nice to have something else to concentrate on. It sounds like your RE has a very good plan in place for you & I pray it brings you your bfp.

Estella, I'm so glad they were able to get you going so quickly! I bet you're thrilled. There are a lot of us on the May/June thread that will be doing IVF very soon. My ER will be about a week prior to yours. I hope all goes well! Good luck! - April

Great Douglas, im glad im going to have someone to share experiences with. We can all celebrate together. Let me know how your apptment go so that i can compare them with mine. I need to read up on your post, is this your
1st attempt? I going to try and limit my time on the boards to about 20 min in the evening, i notice the more i stay on the boards the more i obsess (sp?) about things and over evaluate. ;)

Wow Estella, that is some serious turnaround time your RE has planned for this IVF! Awesome! I say it's best just to get the ball rolling once you decide to go for it. The less time to think and analyze the better!!! Good luck and keep us posetd!

Well, my meds came in the mail today, i am shocked at the amount of stuff and i am not looking to all those shots:dizzy: Lord please help me keep it all straight. I have injection teaching on next wed and start med on Jun 2. i am just beside myself w/ fear that i am going to mess something up:confused:

Yeah, the box of meds for your first IVF is pretty overwhelming. But don't be too afraid... just take it one day at at time. BTW, it's ok to make little mistakes here and there. I've certainly had my share! Just keep your RE in the loop if it's anything you are ever worried about.

You'll be stimming here in no time... Good luck!

Oh, the big box of meds. It is DEFINITELY overwhelming. For now, just make sure you have everything you're supposed to have. Then put it out of sight & try to put it out of your mind. Take it one shot & one day at a time. Don't worry about what you need to do a week from now or a month for now. I think that's the easiest way to get through it. And like Kari said, if you make a few mistakes, it's not the end of the world. You will do just fine! :) Take care!

Thanks Kari and Try2, i did pull the box out of the fridge, did a quick inventory and put the cold items back in for safe keeping. But just the thought of all those shots has me on edge. Its strange never had a problem getting shots or giving blood. Maybe once dh and i do it a time a two i will have more confidence. I appreciate the support :)
