This is a bit embarrassing. I've been having night sweats on and off for the last year or so (I'm 45). Lately I've had profuse night sweating in the genital area. I'll wake up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat from my belly button to mid-thigh. It's so bad that my bed gets all damp from it so in the morning I have to pull everything off to air it (and yes, it definitely is sweat, not anything else). I still sweat in other areas too, but in that particular area is is just SO bad. In this same time I've had frequent yeast infections and milia, most likely because the area is just not as dry as it should be.
Has anyone heard of this??? Is there anything I can do about it?

I do have to say that I had a week or so period when I had something similar. I would wake up and feel very damp as though I was sweating just from my belly button down. I dont get traditional hot flashes like others describe...I get more of a "is it hot in here?" kind of feeling. And then it gradually feels like the room or house is more comfortable after a bit.

I have read that most hot flashes start at the "core" of our bodies, which is our lower abdominal region. So it stands to reason that the sweating in that area can be pretty intense, especially in bed when you are covered up. Also if you sleep on your side and your thighs and knees are together.
Have you ever tried those pillows made especially to keep the knees slightly apart for better alignment? It might help with a little air circulation.
Just a thought......
