Can anyone tell me if low sperm morphology (6%) can increase the chance of having a child with birth defects?

My Dh has low motility and I think normal morphology but I always wondered about that too. But, I did IVF with ICSI and they basically hand selected the best ones and gave me my beautiful daughter who has no problems. I think in the natural world though, it is the survival of the fittest. I don't think a badly morphed sperm could make it all the way to the egg...and that's done like that for a reason, to weed out the potential problems to the egg and embryo. It's nature's way; natural selection...that would be my educated guess anyway. But, you should probably do some research to know for sure. ;)
