Ok so here is my embarrassing situation. For a couple of months now i have been battling with a sort of cut on the shaft of my penis where it meets my testicles. It seems to get better but then always reappears. The skin around the cut and on the shaft gets very dry and flakey. For the most part it is not painful but this week it reappeared and is pretty darn painful. It came back after having sexual intercourse a few times this past weekend.

It does not hurt to urinate, nor does it burn. There is not discharge from my penis and sexual intercourse feels just like normal. It is just the problem of this cut and or sore. It looks horrible and can be quite damaging to ones confidence. I am almost certain it is not on STD because i have been tested. So i have no idea and am somewhat embarrassed and ashamed to go seek medical attention. I have come on here as a safe way to maybe get some advice. So if anyone out there has shared this discomfort or may know what it is, i would love to hear from you. Thanks!

Does it itch at all? Wondering if it could be a yeast infection or fungus. They can cause the skin to crack.

It will occasionally itch a little. It started out as a small slice and has become a bigger cut while also affecting the skin surrounding it. Also the skin has become lighter and almost pure white. I really don't know what it can be. I am probably going to call a dermatologist. Is that what you would suggest?

Sounds like psoriasis to me---my H had it on his shaft and went to a derm, it is gone now! Good Luck!

To see dermatolagist seems to be an appropriate suggestion
