A girlfriend of mine was tested at work for hepatitis c. It came back positive. My concern is that we partied a little bit and snorted cocaine out of the same straw a couple times. She never bleed that I saw, but now i am freaking out, because I think that I could have gotten it from her. I am going to have a base line drawn tomorrow 2 see if I have it or not. Its been about a month or so since this incident do you think that it would show up in a test now, or does it take a long time like HIV. What is the likely hood that I could have gotten it from her. Plz I need advice. I have a small child and I am really scared. Also this girlfriend drinks alot, could this have made her positive for hepatitis.

sharing the straw is definitely one mode of transmission. Don't freak yet. Get tested

As was said in the previous post, I would get tested!! Generally, a person should be retested in six months even if the first test is negative but that info should come from your doctor.

I also believe that alchohol kind of wakes up the virus and makes it become active, but that alone could not make the test positive until the infection is already there!!
