Hayfarmer,

I have scheduled an appt w/ Dr. Shippen. The only problem is that the first opening they had was not until the first of August. Obviously, I will have to be patient. It will definitely be a long summer!! I have a couple of brief questions for you...

1) Is there anything that you would recommend I do to prep for this appt (aside from what his office normally requests for new patients)?
2) Obviously I would like to get in earlier to see him. Do you know how often he has cancellations?

Thanks.

I would not expect any cancellations. He only takes new patients once a week that I know of on Wed mornings. You better check your date thought, Aug 1 is a Friday and they are closed Fridays normally. I suggest you just follow his directions. He will send you a letter telling you what to do and including a blood work order after reading your letter. My only suggestion is to be a detailed and exact as you can in the letter your write to him. I don't mean for you to make it 10 pages long....just try to include all the important details as to what has happened.

Oh, I suggest you keep copies of all your blood work orders he gives you. I have had numerous mistakes at least by Quest Labs in billing mine. He also will put on there for you to get a copy and Labcorp never sends me my copy unless I call.
