Hi Ive posted this on PCOS board and as yet I have had no reply...
Im 28 and have PCOS. I have had ovarian drilling and I am now on metformin and comid/clomophine. After each period I go to the hospital to have internal scans to measure my folicals in my ovaries. As they are not yet the correct size I just have to wait till they get bigger whilst on the medication. Ive been told when they get to the correct size I will be having the HGC injection. What is this and has anyone conceived on the treatment I am taking?
I (like you all) long for a child. I dont get to speak to any one locally about this as we have no support groups near me. These health boards are all ive got and rely on them 100%

Hi & welcome!

I took clomid & metformin before, but it didn't work for me because my issues were w/ my tube (I only have 1 & it is pretty much worthless). Those drugs are used fairly commonly for PCOS though & they could definitely work for you! :) The HCG is an injection that triggers you to ovulate 24 to 36 hours after injection. I believe it pretty much guarantees ovulation & it also helps with the timing of BD'ing because you know when you O.

I also don't know anybody locally having trouble conceiving. In fact, it seems people all around me have been having "oops" babies for longer than we were trying. This board was my lifeline!! Miracles do happen though as I am currently 13 weeks pregnant & I owe it all to my friends on the boards who carried me through all the ups & downs (& of course, my dr ;)).

Good luck to you!!

Thank you for the well wishes! :) It really means a lot to me. We did IVF to achieve our pregnancy. Because of my tube issues, IVF was the best option for us as it by-passed the tubes. We tried for 5 long years but only about 1 1/2 of those years was with the help of a dr. I had surgeries to unblock my tube only to find out there were other things wrong with it as well. There were times I thought I would never get pregnant. Whatever happens, don't give up hope. Miracles happen. I am proof of that!

Hi and Welcome to the boards. I am sorry that you are going through all this, it is never easy. I am going to give you a bit of hope.

I am also 28 with PCOS, I was on clomid for 4 cycles and got my BFP unfortunatly it ended in m/c (nothing to do with clomid). After my m/c I went on clomid again and failed to O, I did not know I had PCOS at that stage. I then went to an RE and got diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistant, I also had ovarian drilling done last year and I was put on metfomin 1750mg per day. I then moved on to Gonal-F injections and Femara combination with HCG for trigger and after 3 cycles got my BFP. I am currently 15 weeks pregant.:D.

I hope this helps you. Good luck

Charlene
