Oh what a feeling it is!! To go through the trials of tx and come out on the other side cured of the monster within. I too was told by my doctor after my six month post tx testing that the odds of the monster returning are about one in a million!

I am supposed to test once a year for the next five years as a precaution but he feels that I don't have much to worry about.

We are living proof that the treatments do work for many people. To me every time a person clears this virus it is an inspiration to all who are considering treatments. I cannot express in words just how happy I am for you for every time a battle with the dragon is won it gets us one step closer to winning the war!!

And I know that I will always use my experience to help others whenever I can for I believe that no one who has met the dragon should ever have to fight alone!!

Congrats fellow dragon slayer!!

I am genotype 2B as well. From what I understand it is the easiest to treat. Thankfully, it allowed me to try the shorter tx of 16 weeks!!

Oh that is WONDERFUL news! Doing the happy dance for you - are ya celebrating with a rootbeer float! Such inspiration in slaying the dragon and having the courage to go thru such harsh tx to get there!!!

I am 1a and started tx in 11-07 (4 mos to go)...sides not bad and attitude great...I went from 23mill VL to 0 in 3 mos so am hopeful I can follow your lead.

SO HAPPY TO HEAR FROM A DRAGON SLAYER!!!!! XOXO

AMEN CClay1358 - what a wonderful thing to not only slay the dragon but to go on supporting others newly diagnosed. You are a true advocate.

I also am an advocate and am still on tx. I have friends at all phases of this monster and have never met such braver people in my entire life.

I went to the Austin State Capital on WorldWide Hep C Day fon 5-19 for press conference and to meet all the senators and representatives to bring awareness. Meet other fellow heppies and it was a wonderful feeling. There are also 2 bills about to go thru congress and a request to increase HepC funding in 2009 CDC fiscal budgets.

I put a post out there w/all information....we all need to write our senators/reps - I did and go very positive responses - both are now supporting bills and funding!

God bless ya my friend for your courage and hugh heart!

xoxo

still here and very happy that it's all over. I cannot even remember how awful I felt last year at this time. He said that sometimes the thyroid suffers from TX and he wanted to check it out-all normal though

That is really weird that you said that because when I got off tx I gained a ton of wieght immediatly....but the kicker is I started working out for the first time in my life and could not get rid of it.....it has been over a year post tx and still I am working out and have been watching what I eat and no change...yes in body form yes....but that is weird because I am not a big person to begin with. When I started working out in July of last year I was going five times a wk and doing cardio and weights.....I could not loose a pound to save my life. It has started coming off now but not in actual weight still. I really thought something might have been wrong with my thyroid there for a while. Weird huh? And yes...I too can't believe that was hardly a year ago already and what a difference. Now I have noticed since then I never regained the kind of energy I had on a daily basis before tx. I am just a bit more lazy. I used to be like wonder woman with the amount of crap I got done. Not anymore. Glad to see you are still around and good luck to all....it does go fast and is over before you know it.
