I am writing this in hopes that this will boost your spirits and give you some hope.

When I first got sick with herpes, I thought, no big deal, I can handle this. Weeks went by and, though my outbreaks healed, I got worse instead of better.

My husband and I have a very complex life. We deal with Big Issues like terminal illness, dual residents and teenagers making bad choices. Sex has been the thing that we could really count on to help us through the worst times (yes you puppies, there is sex after 40, even 50!...and it gets better!)

I was trying stubbornly to do the herbal thing and was still in a lot of pain. I got very depressed and felt hopeless about EVERYTHING.

I finally broke down and went to the doctor. Acyclovir has been a Godsend for me. I now have days when I feel nearly normal. I can once again focus on other things in my life and...best of all...sex is back in the picture.

I know that this route doesn't always work for everybody, but I would encourage you to try it if herbals aren't working and you can afford it. Don't let your stubborness ruin a relationship or send you into depression.
