View Full Version : Acne and Weight Gain- Not normal for me

Have any of you experienced any symptoms like weight gain or acne from Herpes? I cannot trace either to any other changes in my lifestyle, nutrition, etc. I'm wondering whether my body is busy expending energy on the virus and not on metabolism, and/or whether my hormones have changed because of the virus and thus fostered the acne.
OR have any of you experienced these things as side effects from OLE or L-Lysine? These are the only things that are new that I am taking.
I'm just trying to figure this out, because the last thing I need right now is to feel even worse about myself and gaining weight and pimples doesn't help.
Thanks!

U sure is not herpes on ur face.
I got a lot of acnes too since i contracted herpers. But i came to realize that they must be herpes. Is really adnormal to have so much acne all of the sunddent for me. Good luck

Weight gain and acne are one of many things that can happen to your body as a result of increased stress levels. You may be consciously or subconsiously worried about this new factor in your life (herpes) and it could trigger symptoms like you describe (althought not directly resulting from herpes). Alot of times people don't even realize how powerful the effects of stress on your body really are, both good and bad. Try to relax a bit more.

I have definitely had some surprising weight gain and acne unlike I've had before since going on the OLE adn Lysine. Not sure if they are related since I also have been exercising less due to the discomfort. I really don't feel stressed, so I highly doubt that's it.

Either way, I am thinking of discontinuing the OLE and Lysine, but keeping up the OOO, just to see what happens. I also have read some good things about Transfer Factor plus, an immune system booster. Anyone know anything?
