Since Friday I have had urges to have a bowel movement. It is not a strong urge, but it is an urge nonetheless. Anyway, there are a few things that make the urge go away. Sometimes just standing up makes it go away. Other times I just need to pass gas. Sometimes I need to sit on the toilet. Other times I need to strain to pass a small amount of stool (either some small pieces or just one piece). Yesturday afternoon I had a bowel movement that required no straning and was what I am used to.
During this time my stomach has a fullness feeling, but not all the time. I do not think this has anything to do with the fact that I feel like I have to have a bowel movement, but can't. My stomach only feels full after eating certain meals. I was doing very well with watching what I eat, but for the past few days I have, lets just say, let myself go. I have also experienced some nausea, but again I am sure that has something to do with what I have been eating.
I have added fiber to my diet a few months ago and it is helping me out with my bowel problems greatly. I have had no problems with my bowels, but them all of a sudden, poof, I feel like I have to go, but can't. Any advice or information anyone can give to me would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks

Do you have sciatica? I have had it since 1991 but now that I am getting older (51 and perimenopausal), it seems like if I do something to aggravate the sciatica, the nerves in the bowel area get confused.
I often have the sensation of needing to go and find out it is just gas or the way I was sitting. I eventually go okay but have noticed that the odd sensations in the bowel area seem to be linked to pain in my back.
There is really nothing I can do for mine except just wait it out, go check when I get the urge to see if something really does come out, and every great now and then if I think it has gone too long without going, take an Ex-Lax.

Try adding Miralax to your diet. It is OTC and you can get it at Walmart Tartget, Costco, etc. It has just recently become available OTC. It is mixed in either eater or juice, and you drink it down. Within three days you will nocitce that you have normal regular movements. There is no taste or mouth feel to this. I take alot of meds and this has been a life saver for me. After a few weeks you can decide if you need to take it every day or every other... good luck.
