Is "daydreaming" part of OCD. I am prone to go into my own world for quite a long time, sometimes without realising I'm doing it, and I wondered if this is because I have OCD, or if its quite normal in non-OCD people too. They can be pleasant daydreams, more like fantasys than thoughts, which I can stop and do have control over, but I like to retreat into this often. Sometimes I have unpleasant ones where I'm kidnapped or my house is broken into, and I become very distressed until I remember that I don't have to face that situation and stop focusing on it. Does anyone else have this or similar, and is it OCD?

I'd like to know about this too. My mom has been what I call "zoning out" for a couple of months now and cries a lot. She hasn't been diagnosed with OCD, but has a lot of the symptoms. She's been on 200mg of zoloft for a few years now and it's not helping. I am at a loss as to how to help her.
