Hello people,
Hoping someone here might be able to offer some advice or encouragement about future treatment options. To start with I have endometriosis. I have had 3 lap/laser surgeries in the last three years - the last in March last year where I also had a Mirena inserted. As well as the surgeries, at different times, my gyno had me on Depro-provera, nuva ring (at the same time as Mirena) and a variety of strengths of the pill. Over the last 5 months, I have had increasing pain with every period (altho I should note that my period on the Mirena for the last 6 months has been extremely painful breakthru/spotting for two weeks).
Following a weekend of excruciating pain, and what I thought was the beginnings of the flu, I went to my specialist today... He did an internal scan, (found nothing, but hurt like hell). He concluded that I probably have an infection - so he took the Mirena out (sent the Mirena, and a swab off to pathology). But now, I feel like I am just back to square one again - with no relief or resolution :( Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I just feel so low. My gyno is generally pretty great, but I can tell he is getting frustrated as well... He gave me some antibiotics for the infection and something for the pain, he wants me to go hormone free for a couple of months to see how it goes.
I am 28, married in Aug last year. Hubby and I are hoping to start trying for a family next year (we are very aware that due to the endo-my clock is ticking faster than for most). In the meantime, I am just wondering what other options are there???
I have also tried; endo diet, naturopath, polarity & reiki. A friend has suggested acupuncture... has anyone had any relief from this??
any suggestions/comments very welcome - Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this is even an option for you but the Lupron injection? It puts your body into menopause and depletes any endo and hormones. I just got done with a 6month treatment, relief is only temporary, for some. But if you are going to try for a family it might be an option that would help??
Also, I know you might find relief from the laps. But watch out for scar tissue...that can cause pain also.
I hope you find some answers and relief. I have a pain specialist that I go to for meds and treatments. I did ask him about the accupunture...he told me it would give me temp relief. But everybody is different, what works for one does not always work for others.
