hello, this is the only board for spinal disorders. i don't know if tethered spinal cord counts. i was born with a piece of fat wrapped around my spinal cord. i don't know the exact definition of tethered spinal cord but i guess that's as good as any. i had major back surgery at the age of nine. they removed 4 of my vertebra's and gave me back 3 of them. i was suppose to go through physical therapy but did not. needless to say, i have never nor will ever be all that flexible. my back only really bothers me when i am having my monthly. sorry to be so blunt but it is extremely painful. i don't know its normal but i don't have insurance and haven't been to my surgeon in 8 years. im now 20 and all is seemingly well although i was told it could grow back.

my question is to anyone who knows about or has had tethered spinal cord. did you have any trouble having children [or have been told you might]? the health clinic i go to is free and know nothing about it. they say it just depends. that there is no way of knowing. also, does anyone else [if there is anyone else here with the same condition] have a bone that sticks out cuz my does. the doctor told me years ago it was nothing but man does it suck. i can't even do crunches normally. just curious about that one.
