I know it's a different disorder from OCD, but there is no thread for it out there....and I think many people with ocd have trichotillomania (compulsion to pull out one's hair), so I thought I'd give it a shot in here. It's actually an impulse control disorder, but anyways...

how can I stop this urge? it's crazy and I don't want to lose my hair :( but pulling it out feels so good. .....

anyone have any experience with this? the term "impulse control disorder" makes me insanely nervous, as if I can't stop the odd impulses I have....but thank God trich is definitely NOT ocd.

thanks in advance for any help given!

I have a friend with OCD, and I know that he carries around a little stress ball with him. So when an impulse hits, he tries to distract himself with either the stress ball or something else, before his mind and his OCD tweaks out.
