So, back in the day, if I needed to lose weight, I would eat descent meals, and do aerobic videos. I would slim down pretty quickly. Before my lumbar fusion in 2004, I was about 130-135. I am now 145 or so. I found after surgery, I could not do the high intensity low impact aerobics any longer-too much jumping around and twisting of hips. So, I started using my mom's treadmill. Well, that was hurting my low back as well, plus my knees. Then I went to a small version of an eliptical (non-electric) but that pulled on my fusion because of the pelvis rotation. NEXT, I used a recumbant bike. That seemed to do a little better, but I got bored quickly, we moved into a small apartment and there was no room. I also felt like I needed more. So, I went to a video called walk away the pounds. There is a one, two and three mile walk. I like it but again, don't know that it does enough. I am about an 8-10 pant, M-L top. I am 5'6". My middle is okay, it is my low abdomen where they cut into my stomach in surgery, my hips and butt as well as arms. I know a lot of it is my age-I turned 30 this last year, in Nov I turn 31. MY friends and family will say I look pretty good for 30, hubby suggests no weight loss, just firming and toning. I just can't get myself started. I don't know how to go about it. I eat fairly healthy, so I need help with a routine.
In my line of work I stay up on my feet about 12 hours a day, walking a lot. on my days off I tend to stay busy shopping and running errands. I get tired easily though since surgery, and if I don't work out when the energy is good, I lose it and can't get remotivated.
So, could someone help me get started with a possible routine??? I can't ask hubby-we'll get in a fight!!! ;)
