Hi! I just had emergency anterior spinal/cervical decompression and fusion surgery on two levels (almost three) with an autograft on March 24 after I went to the ER in excruciating pain in my left shoulder-blade area and down my left arm and leg. Everything went well and pain has subsided greatly, but I am a little uncomfortable yet and still don't have great range of motion. The autograft was the worst part at the beginning, but now that is healed. How long can I expect to feel discomfort? When will I be 100%? Will I ever have full range of motion? Could I really have been rendered paralyzed if not for the surgery? I am curious (and, okay, yes, a little scared). ~ REBEAU

Hi - without being a dr. or knowing your exact issue - it is possible to have severe cord compression and to be rushed into surgery.
