Does anyone get tiny, paper-like cuts "down there"??? They aren't blisters...just like someone took a piece of paper and cut the skin...any info would be greatly appreciated because I'm clueless!

Is it around the time you have intercourse? He could be causing you to tear. Or if you tend to stay dry when you wipe you could be tearing. The best advice I could give you is to have a doc check it out.

I've just had my second occurence of these paper like cuts, and my doctor is fairly certain it's herpes, esp because this time I got 2 teeny little warts (I hadn't even noticed them, they were so small). I'm a 22 yr old virgin, but me and my bf have engaged in oral sex, and in the past he's had one or two cold sores. Even though he hasn't had an actual sore in years, he still carries the virus, and this is the only way I could have gotten this. So be careful. I'm a virgin with an STD, and I got it from a guy who doesn't have any STDs.

I get this too, where it looks lijke a cut. For me it seems to be part and parcel of an OB, but may not be the case with everyone.

I occasionally get eczema down there, which for me goes hand in hand with thrush, where the skin splits (urgh) in a similar way. But every time i have an OB in this particular spot (towards my anus), there is the 'paper cut' again.

Hope this helps.

Just so you know (and presumably your doctor does too), herpes and warts are caused by two completely different viruses. Herpes is caused by HSV (herpes simplex virus) and warts by HPV (human papiloma virus). One does not cause the other, although one might make you a bit more susceptible to the other by providing a break in the skin for the other to enter. If you have HPV, you need to make sure you get a pap smear every year, since some strains of HPV can cause cervical cancer.

And although oral herpes (cold sores) is not common thought of as an STD, it still is because it can be transmitted during sexual activity (which is what an STD is).

Good luck!

My boyfriend and I have been sexually active for over a year now. For this first time ever, I am experiencing discomfort near the back of my vagina near the anal area. I am on my period right now and it is causing me discomfort when I go to the bathroom. This has never happened to me before and I haven't seen any cuts or unusual marks so I am afraid, by what everyone says, that it may be herpes. What do you guys think? Please help I am freaking out.

First of all, please stop worrying. This could be absolutely anything. Sex can cause all sorts of soreness at odd times. And it can even bring on an attack of thrush.

That said, if it carries on you should go to a clinic and get tested, because it is the only way to find out if you have got something.

The best thing to do at these stressful times is to take action and do something about it. Suffering in silence just makes things worse.

Good luck!

If I were to find cuts like the ones that they were talking about, is there a chance that it still might not be herpes and be caused by some other factor, or is that pretty much what herpes is?

Scared, your best bet is to get in to see your doc while you have symptoms, but even if you don't have symptoms, talk to your doc about it anyway. There are so many things that can have these kinds of symptoms, so go see your doc and see what s/he thinks. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Thanks for your advice. I went to see my doctor today and she said it could be a number of things too. She said it may be a bladder infection, yeast infection, yaginal infection, or I may be too dry or something worse. She said if it persists, I need to go have it inspected a little more and maybe have blood drawn.. But thanks so much for talking to me.
