I'm sorry but I don't understand these things....warts. My 17 yr old has them, her boyfriend of one year past them on to her. She was given a cream from her gyno and she says their gone...now what??? And yes, he was treated too. But now I'm reading she'll have the virus FOREVER? So does this mean they come back? Can she spread them? I'm confused?
I know there is that shot, garda...something....I'm not sure about this...it's too soon, this vaccine hasn't been out long enough for me to feel that it's safe....but yet I'm confused over the warts....gone...not gone....what is the shot for...agh! Confused!

I was told that i have genital warts and hpv about a month ago from my doctor and from what I have heard I will always have the warts. they can go away between outbreaks, but you will always have them. I would def. ask about the vac. gardicil...because if your daughter is already sexually active and has the warts you dont want her to take any chances of getting hpv (the disease gardicil helps protects against). She would be helping her self. I have been going every year for my reg. paps and everything has always come back normal...then this last time i went the doc. told me i had irregular cells and they needed to do more tests to see how serious it is. Well to make a long store short I was told i have warts wich is a symptom of hpv and pre-cancerous cells that they just recently found. I have to go in in 2weeks to get the LEEP procedure done (have the cells taken off of my cervic so i do not end up with cervical cancer). So what I would recommend....go to the doctor with your doctor and get informed as much as both of you can. My doctore told me this is something I could have had for a while and it just not got to the point that the doc. could detect it. I never want anyone to have to go through what I am....help you daughter understand what could truly happen to her body. If she is going to have sex she has to use a condom ....this is one of the ways to protect herself from hpv. they say many people can have it and not even know it....(which I did and hopefully we caught it in time that they can get rid of the pre-cancerous cells before they turn into cancer).
good luck and lots of love :o)

Sorry but that injection does nothing if you already have the virus.

She can lower the outbreaks by not smoking, eating healthy, getting good sleep and not stressing. HPV loves coming out when a body is stressed.
Yes they can both spread them but using condoms helps though not 100% effective like anything.

It's not all doom and gloom and most people live with this fine without to many if any hassles :)
