Hi guys, the last thing I needed was more pain, but I have done something to my back, and it is bad. It hurts to breathe, or to take a medium deep breath. I cannnot move too much without it hurting. It has been over a week and it is not getting any better. I have read that it could be another symptom of fibro, and I was wondering if anybody has had this? It is pain on the upper left side of my back, by my shoulder blade, and the pain sometimes rotates around to the front, and when I take a deep breathe it hurts like ****. I have been taking my normal pain medications, breakthough too (vicoprofen), and muscle relaxants, which do help, but it is still there.

Today, I have decided I am taking a day of rest. I am not thinking about the house, I am just going to sit still on the heating pad.

I went to the doctor last Friday and told him about my back and he tried a quick osteomanipulation trick, but it did not help. I was there for trigger point injections to my face. I could not stand it anymore yesterday, and made a appt for this morning, but had to cancel, my youngest has a stomach flu and I don't want to get babysitter sick, and the pain was ok when I first got up. Then I got moving, and it came back full force. I am now kicking myself in the butt for not going. I have a regular checkup next week so I am hoping it will be gone by then, or at that point I will address it, and it will be 2 weeks.

Does anybody know what I have done, or if it is fibro?

I am so appreciative for your help, thank you.

Kass,

Is it possible you could be sick? I'm not real familiar with it, but I remember my mother had a case of Pleurisy (similar to pneumonia) that first indicated itself through pain similar to yours and a distinct difficulty in breathing. As I recall, she had no fever with it, and at first, she had pain that she thought was due to "sleeping on it wrong" or having cold air blowing on it while she was sleeping. Perhaps "walking pneumonia" manifests itself in a similar fashion.

The spine is a strange creature. I have had severe deferred pain in my arm, due to a floating object near a disk in my neck. I have also had severe sciatica (pain traveling down my leg) and numbness and tingling in my hands and fingers, from disk issues. My back will lock up on me if I make the wrong move. I think the spine/disks can cause pain of any nature and should be looked at carefully to determine if it's the origin of your pain. My fibro pain is usually more like a deep, flu-like ache, although others have mentioned sharp, tingly pain with their FM. I suspect this is something in addition to your fibro.

Poor baby! With all you are going through, this is the last thing you need. Make sure you get an MRI on your spine to rule that out as the source of the problem, if you are able.

((Prayers)))

Thank you for responding. I have the fibro flare ups that are achy, throbbing pain, and then I have the daily stiffness too. This is more like I slept on it wrong, but it is staying. I have had it now over a week. I looked it up last week, and it said that it could be I have sprained or strained something or it could another symptom of fibro. I have sciatica too, and it was horrible when I was pregnant.. Thanks I will write more later.

Niescey, I looked it up, and it sounds like it. I looked up causes and fibro is one of them! Another darn health issue that has to do with having fibro! Thank, for your help.
