I just wanted to know if this is a sign of contracting herpes.
After having protected sex, I felt a stinging pain on the tip of my penis about 20 min. after having sex (note I didn't finish), the pain didn't last too long but about an hour on and off mostly. After that I didn't feel anything until 2 weeks later when I had a rash develope on the tip of my penis glans after masterbating. So my question is, Is the stinging pain a reaction to being infected?
Thanks, I would appreciate any input as I am lost.

That is not a sign of herpes....herpes is a little bump, pimple that mgiht appear, and itch, itch.....you could have some pain in your groin area.......get tested if you're not sure.

Well the thing with mine now is that only the tip (like a circle surrounding the area is red), at times it looks kind of moist (the glare of the light makes it look shiny. It's been like that for about 3 1/2 weeks (probably more just never noticed). Well it doesn't hurt that much anymore but it seems to get worse after I masterbate, and it last a few hours. Then it loses some of the redness, tho it never completely goes away. I know this isn't normal but is this a common occurance of herpes? it's been 2 weeks since the rash/sore went away. Is it normal for it to stay this way for a while?

Confused, did you go to the substitute doctor to get an explanation of your test results and get another swab done? I understand that you are concerned and scared, but you need to understand that we're not doctors here. Herpes symptoms are a little different for everyone and can often be confused with other symptoms.
You're going to have to keep seeing a doctor to get the diagnosis you're looking for. You seem to want one of us to say "Yes, you have herpes" or "No, you don't have it" and the truth is we can't diagnose you. Not even with your verbal descriptions. We're here for moral support and to offer suggestions and share what information we have, but we're just peers like you; we're not medical experts. Keep us posted how you make out with your doctor(s).

Hey man. I hear what you are saying. I'm having the same problem. I'm going to see a doc about it today. I'll tell you what he tells me. I have this like spot on glans. It's like a red spot that showed up after some masturbating and it's only been three days and it's already going away, but I have had this happen before I'm so I'm paranoid. I'll post later with what I'm told by the doc

Goodluck Jere, I hope everything turns out alright. I know what u mean about being paranoid. I know something isn't right I'm just not sure what. Let me know what ur Doc. says maybe it'll give me some insight.
1in4 yes I went to another Doc. I guess I have bad luck with them. This one told me I didn't have herpes just by the fact that I told him I had a condom on during oral and intercourse. He said since it's on the tip of the penis it's very unlikely that I was experiencing a herpes OB. He said he could understand on my scrotom or the base of my penis but not on the tip. He said that's a very unlikely spot to get infected if I was wearing a condom, and since it's the only place I noticed anything, it's probably something else. When he looked at the redness (there was no more sore or anything) he said it could just be a minor irritation. Well I still have to try yet another Doc. this one didn't seem to know too much (in my opinion) Only I know what I saw and felt 2 weeks ago. True I wore a condom, but a lot of things can beat the odds. So what do u think? Is this doctor right? By the way he didn't give me anything to take or apply despite the fact I told him I have a burning feeling there.

I think the chance of this being a primary OB of herpes, received via oral sex when you were wearing a condom, is very slim. Is it a guarantee that it's not herpes? I can't answer that, as I am not a doctor. Your previous doctor prescribed antibiotics, as he thought your symptoms indicated an infection. As far as I can tell you have not tried this, yet you still have symptoms. Seems to me you should at least try the antibiotics before concluding it must be something else. If your symptoms persist after you've finished the antibiotics, then go back to the first doctor and follow up with him, showing him that this has not worked and you need further testing.

Thanks again 1in4. Well all the symptoms have subsided except for a little redness but it doesn't hurt, burn, itch, or anything. Finally after a month everything seems fine again. I know there's nothing more I can do at this point but wait til the 12 week mark so I can get a blood test done (assuming I don't have another OB before then). I'm doing it through healthcheck USA. That way I take the test no questions asked. I can't go through another arrogant doctor telling me it's not herpes since I had a condom and the rash is on the tip. I've talked to other herpes victims and they tell me that it's possible (so I'll obviously believe them) they should know. Well let's see what happens.
