I have some absolutly wonderful news. I TOLD MY BOYFRIEND ABOUT MY GENITAL HERPES!!!!! He knew I had to tell him something, and that time finally came 2 night ago. We made some tea and sat at the table. I started the way every single internet site says you aren't supposed to start. I started crying..I explained the story of how horrible my last boyfriend was, and what happened. I let him know I had a disease, BUT that it's not life threatening. I let him know that it's basically like having a cold sore on your face, but instead I have it on my genitals, and same thing with oral herpes..it's contagious. He held my hand the whole time, and right after I told him he lifted my head and kissed me! He said by the way I was acting he thought I had AIDS. AND he said that we will work through it together, and we will go to doctors, and that he has to be more educated on the topic! NOBODY understands unless they go through it how much of a relief this is! The world looks different. I truly do believe that you shouldn't tell them in the first couple weeks, they HAVE to get to you know you, and you HAVE to get to know them. I also have learnt that if you can't tell your partner this, they aren't worth it. You have to be able to be honest and communicate. He said that he finds me more attractive and beautiful now because I was so honest. He thanked me over and over. I think people will end up being more greatful, then mad.
I have NEVER said thank you to anyone on this board..especially you OneinFour! The support is wonderful. This board you can write your fears, goals, frustrations, and there is just soo much support.
I have a question for you OneinFour. Is your name that because one in every four women have this?
It feels like life has finally started over again after 2 and a half years..WOW!!
