Sponsor chiefan58 06-04-2008, 06:59 PM Typically depends on if there have been any lapses in insurance coverage. If you're switching from one to another, I'm guessing you should be ok. If you've been without coverage, then a pre-existing condition would apply and there would be a waiting period at minimum. joe132 06-04-2008, 07:33 PM Yeah im just looking down the road. Ive had insurance the entire time this has come up, and i wouldnt let there be any lapses in coverage even if i had to go out and buy it myself. My VERY limited understanding of insurance laws is that they cant deny you coverage if you've had coverage for a year prior to the condition and have kept up with insurance. Thats just how i understood it. hayfarmer 06-05-2008, 09:49 AM It depends on what state you are in. In some states they can deny you coverage even if there is no lapse. What they can not do in any state is apply a pre-existing condition if they cover you and there was no lapse. I'm in VA and in VA, there is one company that is required to cover me if I do not let my coverage lapse. Of course at a premium price. Any other company can deny me for any reason. I have heard of people being denied even with a history of sinusitis, so don't be surprised if this gets you denied. I would love to hear from others who have been denied or accepted with hypogonadism. |
