Hey I am so scared right now. I am starting not to eat because I am so worried. It has been about 5 days since I have received unprotected oral sex. I don't think I had a cut on my penis, and I am not sure if she had Herpes on her mouth, but I've felt MILD discomfort. Kind of as if I just shaved and small prickles. Nothing itchy or burning. Any help???? I feel like I dont want to live anymore.
by the way, there are no spots or lesions.

Hi DontKnow,

Please relax!! It sounds more like you're suffering from a case of the guilts than anything else. What you describe could be due to many things, stress being the biggest one that comes to mind. Relax, de-stress, don't panic, don't worry, etc., etc. You're probably fine. If you get any other symptoms, go and see a doctor.

In the meantime, please relax and maybe rethink your policy about who/when/how you have sexual contact. If you're going to be *that* upset at the thought of catching something, then I think you need to protect yourself better by choosing your partners, timing and methods a little more carefully.

I'm not criticising, just pointing out a practical reality for you. Even if you do catch something, it is NOT the end of the world! But if you're that sensitive to being upset then you need to protect yourself more in the future.

Good luck! Let us know if you have any further problems with it.

I'm not sure why this isn't showing up on the list as not being replied to, but I thought I'd post another reply and make sure you didn't think your post had been ignored, DontKnow.

...Weird, now it's showing both replies on the message listing page; before it wasn't showing any. Weird.

I received G-HSV-1 3 years ago form someone who didn't know she had it. I got it from rigerous oral she was performing on me...it chafed my skin and probably hers too. My initial ob wasn't cool, but all I ever get now is a red spot about 1/4inch+ in diameter. HSV-1 below the belt is not its natual home and doesn't bother people as much as cold sores. My red spot lasts a few days, cream sends it away faster. It itches a little, otherwise no pain or anything. Its the least of my troubles.

Hope this helps

Hi again DontKnow,

Herpes symptoms are a bit different for everyone. Sometimes there is pain, which could be anything from sharp pain to a dull ache. Sometimes the pain is only when urine comes in contact with a sore, sometimes they're just itchy, sometimes there's little/no pain or discomfort; sometimes the pain is localised, other times it's throughout a general area.

They can sometimes look like an ingrown hair...which may be "just" an ingrown hair too, not herpes. For some people the sores are like tiny cuts, for some they're large blisters; some are dry, some are "wet," some are just redness of the skin or irritation.

If you're still this worried about it and you're getting new symptoms, get a doctor to look at it ASAP before the symptoms heal too much to see what they are. That means tomorrow, if you're going to do that. I'm not looking to scare you, just that if the doc is going to have clear symptoms you should do it quickly before they heal.

Let us know how you make out. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
