We had a meeting with our RE today. She suggested that we either do injections or IVF after taking Clomid and doing IUI for THREE cycles and got BFN. My husband is hesitating about those more aggresive treatments, I am also concerned about the cost. My husband's sperm is ok, not great, but ok~normal. I also ovulate regularly and reacted to Clomid.
We wonder if we should try another IUI, but our RE said the chance of success is very slim after people failed on three cycles.
Does anyone has any suggestions for our next step? Should we consider another IUI, or it's really not worth the try?
Thank you!!

Well, I did IVF back in 06. 1 fresh, 1 frozen, then another fresh cycle which I got pg with. My daughter is 13 months old. I never did IUI, but I understand your hesitance as it is a big step and is way more involved (as people who have done both have told me). All I can say is, if you have the money and you invest yourself into the process, go for it! It will give you the best chance to get pregnant. But, it can be overwhelming, so take it a day at a time. It was successful for me and many others, so it is worth it in the end! Good luck!

Hi Coco,

Just wanted to chime in to say that I was told the same thing by my doctor, and my situation sounds similar to yours. We have unexplained infertility...every test for both my husband and myself has been within the bounds of normal. We were told that after 3 cycles of IUI w/injectibles (after 5 rounds of IUI w/clomid) that we should move on because chances of success were low. I'm currently in 2WW on the 3rd cycle. I don't know if we will take that next step, my husband feels the same as yours. Just wanted to let you know that the advice I received was the same as yours!

Hi, Stefs, thanks for letting me know that someone like you is in the same situation and can understand our concerns.
We just decided to try another IUI with Clomid this month. My IMPORTANT date will be around this month end (unless I get lucky and the ugly red lady is not visiting me next weekend :)
We've been TTC for almost 1.5 years, I am 35, never got pregnant before, my DH is 42 with a 18 years old son. How long have you guys been trying?
Please keep me updated on your progress, I will do the same.
Take care

Coco
